Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists

Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) provide the highest level of musculoskeletal care. In a recent study, Fellows achieved better clinical outcomes and were more clinically efficient than those without fellowship training. The orthopedic manual physical therapy fellowship at East Tennessee State University incorporates research opportunities, teaching experience, and clinical mentorship into a year-long program to elevate the clinical reasoning abilities of a Physical Therapist.

ABPTS Board-Certified Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Clinical Specialist

The intensive year-long residency program at the St. Louis VA in conjunction with Maryville University develops highly trained clinicians with expertise in cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions. Upon completion of this program, clinicians are eligible to sit for an all-inclusive board-exam to achieve specialist status. As of June 2020, there were only 378 board-certified cardiovascular and pulmonary clinical specialists nationwide. In the state of Tennessee, Emily is 1 of only 3 specialists.

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Upon completion of a baccaleureate degree, prospective Physical Therapists must apply to a post-graduate Physical Therapy program. Admitted students must complete a 3-year doctorate degree that incorporates didactic instruction as well as clinical experience to prepare them for a national licensure examination. ETSU's examination pass rate has consistently been 90% or greater after graduation. Physical Therapy was ranked by U.S. News as one of the top 10 best jobs in healthcare.

Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CERP)

The CERP program, offered by the University of Tennessee in cooperation with Colorado State University, is designed to educate post-graduate professionals about the principles and foundational skills of equine rehabilitation. The course incorporates a blended learning environment covering a variety of topics from anatomy and biomechanics to physical modalities and manual therapy.

Tennessee Master Horse Certification

The Tennessee Master Horse Program is designed to improve the knowledge of horse owners within the state. The program covers several topics, including nutrition, pasture management, reproduction, veterinary care, and more. All modules are taught by experts in the equine and agricultural industries. The goal of the course is to promote the success of the equine industry for years to come.

Founder of Appalachian Saddle Club

Founded in 2021, the Appalachian Saddle Club (ASC) was created with the ranch horse in mind. The events encourage friendly competition in order to build confidence, improve performance, and foster long-term relationships in the horse community. ASC open horse shows are hosted on a monthly basis at Evening Breeze Arena in Elizabethton, TN.

Larry Hill and Emily Grieshaber share a passion for improving the partnership between horse and rider. With over 50 years of combined experience in the performance horse industry, Larry and Emily work together to train horses of all types and provide riding lessons to both English and Western riders. Legend Performance Horses is based out of Bristol Equestrian Center.
